About Seán
Seán McNicholl is an award-winning fiction writer from County Armagh.
His stories have appeared in ANMLY, The Storms, Epoque Press, The Belfast Review, Trasna, Frazzled Lit and Intrepidus Ink, among other publications.
He is the winner of the Hammond House International Literary Prize 2025.

He has received three Pushcart Prize nominations, as well as nominations for Best of the Net and Best Microfiction.
His novel, Summer Orphans, follows two boys in South Armagh in the summer of 1972 and is currently seeking representation.
It was shortlisted for the Marlowe and Christie First Novel Prize.
It also longlisted for the BPA First Novel Awards, the CRAFT First Chapters Contest and the BPA Pitch Prize.
It was listed in the Top 10% of the Exeter Novel Prize.
